Room 322: Oscillator

This home-built oscillator is the origin of the femtosecond laser pulses used in all the laser experiments in this lab.

The green light comes from an argon laser that is used to pump a titanium:sapphire crystal. The pumped crystal produces femtosecond laser pulses (red light). These pulses have low energy, but are used to seed the regenerative amplifier.
